When you see a dog on the street, remember: it didn’t choose this life. It’s a result of human neglect and systemic issues.

🔍 Why are there stray dogs?

1. ❌ Abandonment

Pets bought or adopted — then discarded. Reasons: moving, illness, puppies, “didn’t work out”.

2. 🐕‍🦺 Uncontrolled breeding

Dogs born from unsterilized pets or already stray dogs.

3. 🚪 Access to hidden spaces

Puppies born in open entrances, construction sites, backyards.

4. 🧊 Lack of sterilization

One female can lead to 60,000+ offspring in 6 years without spay/neuter.

5. 🧑‍⚖️ Poor public policy

Few shelters, no long-term programs, limited funding.

🏙 Why cities?

• Food access (trash, feeding by humans)
• Shelter from wind and rain
• Kind people leave food
• Safer than forests or fields

⚠️ Consequences for cities:

• 🚨 Fear, biting, or aggression (especially during mating season)
• 🐶 Packs may defend territory
• 🚗 Road accidents involving dogs
• 😿 Suffering: illness, injuries, cold

✅ What can be done:

• 🧡 Support TNR programs (Trap–Neuter–Return)
• 🛠 Install smart feeders for safe, clean feeding
• 🧒 Educate kids: stray ≠ dangerous
• 🧼 Keep areas clean
• 🤝 Join neighbors to help kindly
