What to Do If You Find a Puppy or Kitten 🐶🐱

You spot a tiny ball of fur near the road. Crying, shivering, alone. What should you do? Here's a guide 🧡

🟠 Step 1: 📍 Observe

• Is it really a stray? → Watch for 1–2 hours — the mom might return
• Are there siblings nearby?
• Is it a safe location?

🟠 Step 2: 🤲 Approach Gently

• Move slowly
• Speak calmly
• Use food to lure
• If the baby is scared — don't force it

🟠 Step 3: 🏡 Temporary Shelter

• Warm box with cloth
• Carrier or basket
• Bathroom with towel bed

🟠 Step 4: 🍽 Water & Gentle Food

• Warm clean water
• For kittens: kitten formula or glucose water
• For puppies: soft porridge, no salt/spices ❗ No cow’s milk — can cause diarrhea

🟠 Step 5: 📞 Contact a Rescuer

• Message local animal groups or TailsPal
• Share 📍location, 📷photo, 🕐time
• If needed — visit a vet

🟠 Step 6: 🩺 Vet Visit (if possible)

• Parasite check and deworming
• Flea treatment
